Gout
Gout is a form of arthritis caused by the buildup of uric acid, which is a waste product that dissolves in the blood and flows out of your body in your urine.
Uric acid can crystallize in a joint, often in the big toe or knees, and can be very painful, cause swelling and inflammation. There are medicines on the market you can take daily to help you from a gout attack but I have found that taking high levels of vitamin C can reduce uric acid blood levels and reduce the amount of gout attacks. Of course you still need to watch what you eat. If you like seafood, shellfish, and beer, you need to eat it in moderation. Those foods can cause you a build up of uric acid and cause you to have an attack of gout. I have found that taking 500 milligrams of vitamin C helps in not just keeping your gout in check but makes you feel better and fights off those nasty colds.
So if you suffer from gout, try vitamin C and see if it helps you. This may not be the trick for you but it may help. You might want to discuss this with your doctor also
